Skills For Life

Craft workshops within our partnership Special Needs school have largely taken the place of the work experience placements described in our last newsletter. Staff felt pupils were not being given the experiences and training initially agreed with the work placements, and that their special needs were not being adequately met while on placement. As an alternative, for the present at least, pupils are now being taught the skills needed to make jewellery, decorative items, pots and plates in school, which can then be sold.
